TV Full Form in Medical term is Transvaginal Ultrasound. It is related to examining the uterus, ovaries, tubes, cervix, and pelvic area through transvaginal ultrasound.
Transvaginal refers to something that is done across or within the vagina. During the exam, the ultrasound wand will be inserted into the vaginally. You’ll need to bend your knees and lay face up on a table. Stirrups may be used to secure your feet.
A probe will be inserted into the vagina by the ultrasound technologist or doctor. Mild discomfort is possible, but no harm will be done. A condom and gel are used to protect the probe from contamination.
The probe sends out sound waves & records their echoes as they bounce off various anatomical targets. The ultrasound device gives a picture of the organ or tissue being examined.
On the ultrasound machine, a picture will appear. The patient is often allowed to view the screen as well in modern medical facilities.
To check on the pelvic organs, the doctor will glide the device around the area slowly and carefully.
When a clearer image of the uterus is required, a transvaginal ultrasound technology named saline infusion sonography may be used.
