The full form of RMB in Medical is Right Main Bronchus. Bronchus is a part of the respiratory system, and it is the air passage in the lower respiratory tract. The bronchus splits into two as it goes deeper. These two parts are known as Right Main Bronchus and left Main bronchus. The right and the left bronchus then connect to the right and the left lung, respectively.
Right Main Bronchus is shorter and wider than the Left Main Bronchus. In addition, Right Main Bronchus has a steep angle too. The average length of the Right Main Bronchus is 1.09 cm. In most humans, Right Main Bronchus enters the lung around the fifth thoracic vertebra. The Right Main Bronchus further divides into three secondary bronchi. These secondary bronchi deliver oxygen to the three different lobes in the right lunch. The three lobes are referred to as the superior lobe, middle lobe and inferior lobe. You may see RMB on your prescription or report when you have any issues with the respiratory system.
