NSV full form in medical term is a No-scalpel vasectomy, also known as Keyhole Vasectomy. It is a vasectomy process wherein a mainly designed dissecting hemostat and clamp are helpful in cracking the scrotum to access the vas deferens. NSV approach provides numerous benefits, including a lower risk of bruising, bleeding, pain, and infection. Also, it has a shorter process time than conventional scalpel incision techniques. Furthermore, due to the inherent simplicity of the process, it is safe and effective.
Unlike conventional vasectomy, NSV has minimal pain, infection, and bleeding. This can be done in a matter of minutes, and the person returns to sexual activity sooner than with traditional vasectomy surgery. In addition, 1 in 2000 pregnancies is likely after a vasectomy. Some of the complications associated with NSV include hematoma, bleeding, surgical site infection, long-term pain from tests, etc.
NSV, or No-scalpel vasectomy, was first introduced by Dr. Li Shunqiang in China to eliminate men’s fear of increasing vasectomy use and incision. However, the eligibility criteria for NSV and traditional vasectomy procedures may vary from clinic to clinic.
