MNAMS full form in medical term means National Academy of Medical Sciences. It is an institution that is designed to provide and boost academic excellence to help mitigate social and medical goals. It was registered back on 21st April 1961 as “Indian Academy of Medical Sciences” under the act of Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. The venue was inaugurated by the first prime minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The academy was later on renamed to its modern-day name and has its official address located at NAMS House, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, New Delhi.
MNAMS is one of the nodal agencies working as one of the advisory bodies under the Government of India. It has a council member of 22 people which includes office bearers, officers of the academy like the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Immediate Past President. The academy helps in elevating the policy on medical and health planning across the nation and promoting medical education. It helps in setting up new innovative methods and policies for improving the stature of health professionals and thus alleviating the standards of the medical field in the nation. It also awards students exemplary awards under different categories for their contribution in the fields of publication, research, academics, service, and more.
