MMU full form in medical term is Malignant Melanoma of the Uvea. Melanoma is a cancer type that build-up in the cells that produce melanin, the pigment that provides the skin it’s color. Human eyes can develop melanoma and also have melanin-forming cells. This melanoma is sometimes called ocular melanoma.
It is the most common condition found in most people but tends to form in the part of the eye that is not visible when viewed in the mirror, making melanoma challenging to detect. However, it is curable with the proper treatment. Although treatment for minimal eye melanoma may not interfere with the eye’s vision, large-scale melanomas majorly cause vision loss.
