CIN full form in medical is cervical intraepithelial neoplasia aka cervical dysplasia. It is a common condition in which the cervix surface cells start to grow abnormally. Cervix is the neck part of the uterus, and usually, when someone is diagnosed with cervical dysplasia at an early stage, there are better chances of the patient recovering from it. However if not treated on time, CIN or cervical intraepithelial neoplasia can cause cervical cancer in the patient.
A Pap test is the most common diagnostic procedure to diagnose a patient with CIN or cervical dysplasia. A person gets CIN because of the human papillomavirus also known as HPV. Based on the epithelium affected by CIN can help the medical professional determine whether it causes cancer or not. And for that, in the medical field, there are three scales for this: CIN1, CIN2, and CIN3. CIN1 is the phase where the recovery chances are pretty high and doctors have enough time to consult the treatment option with the patient. And if a patient is diagnosed with CIN2 or CIN3, the chances of her getting cervical cancer are relatively higher.
