BDMS full form in medical term is Body Double Multiple Sclerosis also known as Progressive Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis. BDMS or PRMS is one of the multiple sclerosis stages, where the damage done to the body is rapid with progressive attacks within a few months or weeks. And each time multiple sclerosis attacks occur, it irreversibly damages the nervous system, lending more disability to the patient. Since there is no particular and highly effective cure for this disease, it can be really painful for the person suffering from it.
Researchers and medical professionals have some assumptions about why this rare condition occurs. Most medical professionals believe that it has something to do with the immune system response. With patients suffering from multiple sclerosis, something triggers the immune system to eat away the myelin present as the protective layer on the nerves or neurons. The immune system over time damages the cells that produce myelin, and it permanently makes the nerves or neurons exposed. And which leads to the destruction of neurons that causes permanent disability to the patient. In most cases, patients lose their vision, and mobility completely.
