About Mohamed Rela

Dr. Mohamed Rela is indeed a leader in the field of liver transplantation, having worked in the field for more than 28 years. It was in 2009 that he established the Center for Liver Disease & Transplantation at International Gleneagles Health City. It has quickly grown to become India's most comprehensive liver transplant program.

 Since its beginning, nearly 1500 liver transplantation operations have been carried out under the auspices of this program. In addition, he is a doctor of liver transplant at the Kings College Hospital in London, where he practices.

The 'Dr. Rela Institute and Medical Centre' was founded by Prof. Mohamed Rela, who formerly worked for the Global Gleneagles medical center. He has conducted approximately 4000 liver transplant operations in his professional career.

When a team led by him conducted a successful liver transplant on a five-day-old girl in December 1997, he was officially recognized as a world leader and was inducted into the Guinness Book of Records in 2000. She is presently a 20-year-old legal student pursuing her bachelor's degree.

He was the first to use the method of split liver transplantation, in which a cadaver liver is divided in half and then transplanted into two different persons.
