Having been awarded the Padma Shri, Doctor Kamini Rao is a pioneer in the assisted reproduction community in India as well as a well-known educationist in her own right.
She has always been a steadfast advocate for women's basic right to give birth, and it was with this goal in mind that she founded one of India's leading fertility chains, "Milann," formerly recognized as BACC Healthcare, a label that is compatible with quality standards of quality care, medical knowledge, excellent patient care, and success rates that are comparable with those of the best fertility centers in the world.
She has established her Kamini Kares Foundation, the non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, developing, and educating the lives of girl children, and women throughout our country. The main focus is on identifying women's abilities and assisting them in achieving and exploring their goals. All women should have the ability to direct their own lives and destinies, as well as access to enough food, education, & health care as a minimum.
Hemophilia, Downs Syndrome, Thalassemia, and carrier testing are among the genetic diseases for which she is currently developing a laboratory facility. She is also developing a research database to facilitate more research that will result in improved treatment and a higher quality of life for those suffering from these diseases.
