DCMP Full Form in Medical is Dilated Cardiomyopathy. The ventricles become dilated and thickened due to a condition affecting the heart’s muscle. The major pumping chamber of the heart (the left ventricle) is usually the origin. When the heart is dilated, it becomes more difficult to circulate blood throughout the body.
The heart’s chambers enlarge due to dilated cardiomyopathy. Dilated cardiomyopathy can cause cardiac failure if left untreated.
Dilated cardiomyopathy symptoms including as weariness and dyspnea might be confused with those of other diseases. Initially, a person having dilated cardiomyopathy may feel OK. However, dilated cardiomyopathy can rapidly progress to a fatal state. In many cases, this is what triggers heart failure.
Men are more likely to have dilated cardiomyopathy than women. Dilated cardiomyopathy treatment options include drugs and surgical implantation of a device to regulate heart rate or assist the heart in pumping blood. A heart transplant may be necessary in some cases.
In the first stages of dilated cardiomyopathy, some persons show no symptoms at all.
Common symptoms include fatigue, shortness in breath, chest pain, swelling, etc.
See a doctor right away if you have shortness of breath or any other symptoms associated with dilated cardiomyopathy. If you experience serious difficulties breathing or chest pain that lasts for more than a few minutes, you should call ambulance.
