FR full form in medical term is frequency of respiration. Also called respiratory rate or breathing rate, it counts on the basis of several breaths a human take/per minute.
By assessing the number of breaths you take in a one-minute period while resting, you can measure the frequency of your respiration/breathing rate. To know an adequate measurement of FR, you should try to relax and sit.
During this period, you will need to take your breath and measure your breathing rate by counting the number of times your stomach rises over a one-minute period. Note and record this number.
The frequency of respiration or respiratory rate is the number of breaths a person takes per minute. It is usually assessed when a person is at rest and simply involves counting the number of breaths for one minute and the number of times the chest pumps.
This rate can develop with illness, fever, and other medical issues. When checking the frequency of respiration, it is necessary to consider whether a person has difficulty breathing. However, a normal FR for an adult at rest is 12–16 breaths/minute.
