PGE Full Form in Medical term is Primary Generalized Epilepsy. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder characterized by seizures. Short bursts of intense electrical energy in the brain cause seizures. When these bursts happen in one part of the brain, it is called a partial seizure. They happen throughout the whole brain; it is known as a generalized seizure. They cause signs and symptoms in the whole body, previously called generalized convulsive epilepsy.
Also called grand mal or generalized tonic-clonic seizure, PGE follows a basic pattern. In this case, you may lock your jaw, bite your tongue or cheek, turn blue in the face, and lose control of your bowels or bladder. You may have weird changes in emotions, smell, taste, and vision before the seizure starts. Experiencing headaches, drowsiness and confusion after the seizure is common.
The most common causes of seizures and epilepsy are an alteration in the brain’s structure, genetics, head trauma, infections of the brain, autism, a brain tumour, a stroke, congenital conditions, etc.
