PFA Full Form in Medical is Psychological first aid is a humanitarian initial disaster response intervention provided to fellow human beings in need of support. It aims to stabilize disaster survivors, promote safety, and respond to the psychological needs of families and individuals causing the impacts of terrorism and disaster. PFA can be offered to disaster relief workers and first responders. It takes care of the instant concerns and needs of one affected by a disaster and does not offer on-site therapy.
This does not include asking for data and descriptions of traumatic experiences, providing psychological debriefing, something only professionals can do, or any kind of diagnosis and treatment of affected persons.
