There is a social stigma attached to the world of AIDS or HIV. People may feel embarrassed while referring to this disease again and again. To avoid this, the term PLHA was coined. This term is used by the government & hospitals when referring to someone who has HIV or AIDS. Many therapies and lifestyle changes are designed for such people, and they can take benefit of such schemes to get medication and treatment. In most cases, the government also offer subsidized medicine to people living with HIV/AIDS as this helps them cut down the cost of treatment drastically.
