FIPS Full Form in Medical term is Federation of Indian Physiological Societies. The Federation of International Physiological Societies (FIPS) is a professional organisation for all physiologists in the United States.
Federation of Asian & Oceanian Physiological Societies is one of its parent organizations. An Organization of Indian Physiologists and Pharmacologists (APPI).
Its member organizations include the Society for Animals Physiologists of India (SAPI), the Indian Society of Comparative Animal Physiology (ISCAP), and the Physiologists Society of India (PSI). Physiologists from the fields of medicine, science, zoology, and comparative animal science are all represented here. In addition to its primary function of bringing together physiologists from different fields in India, this organization acts as a hub for communication between India’s many physiological societies and worldwide organizations.
In October 1990, the AIIMS in New Delhi hosted a gathering of prominent Indian physiologists and the heads of the several Physiological Societies in India. The importance of establishing a Federation of India Physiological Associations to improve communication and collaboration between Indian and foreign physiologists was discussed at length.
A cohesive strategy for addressing national issues in the physiological sciences was also identified as a priority at this meeting.
