CLW full form in medical term is Contused Lacerated Wounds. An external impact on the body causes this type of wound. The impact could be falling, pinching of the skin or a blow to the skin, which causes the skin to break and leads to bleeding. First aid should be administered if the patient is suffering from Contused Lacerated Wound, and the focus should be on disinfecting the wound and stopping the bleeding. The treatment includes rest, ice pack, compression and elevating the injured area.
Sometimes, Contused Lacerated Wounds may lead to sharp and burning pain. In addition, bleeding is a common symptom of Contused Lacerated Wounds. You may also notice bruising or swelling. In some cases, CLW may even cause a concussion or bone fracture. Once the first aid is administered, the doctors may recommend an X-Ray to look for possible fractures. Once that is done, further treatment would be suggested. Apart from this, you may also get painkillers if the pain is beyond your tolerance limit. If the bleeding doesn’t stop, the medical staff may have to stitch the wound. You would also be required to get tetanus shot to avoid any secondary infection.
